Flea Market Sunday!

What a glorious morning to be at the flea market!
I felt like a bought a lot, but guess what, I still had room left. After I got home and unloaded, I realized that I paid for but left two items with one of my favorite dealers
(I hope she saves them for me for next week!)
 Here's the whole pile....
A closer look....loving this vintage scale for it's gray and white combination.
These metal draws are just rusty perfection!
A fabulous vintage enamel hanging light fixture. This is not usually my style, but I had already bought the yellow table and the green chippy painted door, so when I saw this light,
I knew it would look great with those two items.
At the last minute, I scooped up this box full of lab equipment, at the suggestion of a fellow hunter (thank you!) Look at all that was in the box....

My favorite find? Believe it or not, it's this vintage Woolrich plaid wool jacket. I know, I was just complaining about how long the winter was here, and I bought all pretty spring things today, but this jacket has the best faux fur lining in it and I can just visualize wearing it with skinny jeans and boots in the fall/winter. Call me crazy for thinking of the cold weather!!
Hope you had a fabulous weekend!

Weekend of Shopping-Yard Sales and Flea Market

Fun shopping weekend...yard sales Saturday and Flea Market early Sunday...I needed 'smalls' and I got them! Right now I'm heavy on furniture, but light on the home decor and accessories, so that's what I was shopping for...

Here's how it started, not the best picture, but trust me there's some good stuff in there-just really wanted to show you the lockers!!
That was the Saturday Yard Sales, here's the Sunday Flea Market...

Favorite Find? It's this raw wood spindle shelf-just love all the details and the color, or lack of, the wood.

Were you able to go out shopping this weekend? What did you get?
Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Flea Market Sunday-Nautical Finds

Good morning!
It was a stunning sunrise this morning, but chilly at the Flea this morning...
35 degrees, and it's May?!
Not too many good finds today,
but my pickings defiantly had a nautical feel to them...

Love the small tray with the knots display.
A pair of nicely weathered flower boxes, a small brass anchor and a wrought iron piece of art, and a pair of vintage red and white boat cushions.
Great covered demi john.
And Favorite Find?  It's gotta be this crate...
With it's stenciled MAB 2035 on all sides and top, great patina on the wood, and a size of 23h x 31w x 20h, with some added casters, will make a fabulous coffee table with storage!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!
Enjoy!

1st Flea of the Season for Me!

45 degrees, overcast and sprinkling on and off on my way to the flea market this morning, but I've waited about 6 months for this day, and I was not to be deterred.
Glad I went, here's what I came home with...
Love the ladder! It's about 7 feet long and just barely fit in my truck. Thought I was going to have to strap it to the roof-which is no problem since I always have bungee cords with me in case of such an emergency!
Jumper cables? No, but bungee cords, yes.
Vintage seam binding, vintage receipt holder.
Great small metal lamp that's been painted cream-and it works!
A bunch of silver that just needs a quick polishing.
Vintage canning jars made in France-no covers, but think I'll have to keep them
to use for candles and flowers.
This vintage basket on wheels is great! And it's already white-perfect!

Favorite find? Well I love love love the ladder, but I thought this piece was so cool, wish I could say that I made it, but no. Won't it look great with flowers planted in it? I think it's set up to actually run water through it with a small pump-might have to try that if it's water tight.

I hope you had a great weekend! We actually have a holiday here in MA tomorrow-Patriots Day-and no, not the football team, we're talking history and the Revolutionary War people. Gotta love a 3 day weekend!
Enjoy!~Kris

Junkin' day!

Michelle and I went out on a junking trip this week. We filled my truck...are you not surprised?! Here's what I came home with...
3 fabulous green plantation shutters-still have the hardware!
Great old picnic basket, always a sucker for natural wicker, and a set of 6 etched glasses,
These vintage metal stools have a unique line to them, they swivel, but the seats are ruined. One actually is SLIMY...what is on/in it??I have no idea! The seats will come off, and I'm thinking wood to replace them. Love that mix of wood & metal!
And lastly, this vintage upholstered chair. It's more yellow than gold and it is so comfortable! You just automatically snuggle into its corner. To give it the shabby look that I envision, I'm painting the dark wood a creamy white, after a few minor repairs. I can see her in a girls room (sweet) or if someone is lucky enough to have a walk in closet with room for a chair (glam) this would be perfect.

Only a couple of weeks to go until the flea markets open again!
Happy Spring!
