Side of the Road Redo

Last spring, I had picked up this sideboard on the side of the road. Actually, I needed a friend with a truck to come help me...

It was missing its two bottom doors, the bottom draw needed to be rebuilt, and the felt liner in the silverware draw needed to be pulled out...but besides that, she was gorgeous! Even had the pitted mirror still! So finally got to paint her. Started with primer...

Then went on to paint parts of it with Ben Moore Dove White...
Picked up these green porcelain knobs at Anthropology...*tip*-they have the best hardware selection, check out their sale room for great deals, these were only $2.95 each!
I placed two vintage baskets in the openings to hold linens.
As soon as this piece was done, the family decided that they loved it too. But if we keep this, then something else has to go...
so this piece is going to be for sale at the Spaulding Cooperage this upcoming week. I loved it, but my dining room is too small for both. I know it will find a happy home.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

  1. Don't you love FREE :-) Great find and a beautiful transformation too! Ah yes so fun to be a dealer! If you find something better you just sell what does not fit and move something new and interesting in!
