Ever have fiddleheads? I never had. Then I spotted them on my last grocery jaunt and remembered something that I had read, somewhere, sometime ago...'you should always pick up something new and foreign to you when at the market to try'. So I did.
I washed them, sauteed them with extra virgin olive oil and sliced garlic, then squeezed lemon juice on them as they came off and...YUM! Even my family liked them. If you like asparagus, you'll probably like fiddleheads!

ps-I didn't tell the kids that they were ferns, but they figured it out. These kids are getting too smart!
Who knew? I'm not sure I've ever laid eyes on a fiddlehead . . . but I'll put it on my list of things to {someday} try!
